The SportXAwards to celebrate the top leaders in professional sport, sponsorship, and the media
The inaugural SportXAwards Pro Sports Edition is set to make history on 3 September 2026, prior to the 3rd test between the Springboks and the All Blacks,celebrating the leaders, commercial and retail brands, as well as media personalities driving South Africa's sports business sector.
The Awards span various segments:
Sports Leaders Categories
This segment will recognise senior executives across Cricket, Rugby, and Football, through public and industry nominations, of which the categories are:
- Pro Sport Club CEO of the Year: Cricket, Rugby and Football
- Pro Sport Women Executive of the Year: Cricket, Rugby and Football
- Pro Sport Club Marketing Leader of the Year: Cricket, Rugby and Football
- Pro Sport Women Marketing Leader of the Year: Cricket, Rugby and Football
- Pro Sport League CEO Leader of the Year
- Pro Sport Women League Executive of the Year
- Pro Sport League Marketing Leader of the Year
- Pro Sport Women League Marketing Leader of the Year
- SportXAwards Sports Leader of the Year
Sponsorship Categories
Nominees in all the other segments will recommend brands that have had the most visible activations of their sponsorship over the last year, including the following categories:
- Pro Cricket Main Franchise Sponsor
- Pro Rugby Main Franchise Sponsor
- Pro Football Main Club Sponsor
- Pro League Main Sponsor
- Pro Sports Event Main Sponsor
Media Personality Categories
Nominations for this segment of the Awards will be done by the media officials' and representatives from the different sports clubs and leagues, recognising top talent across media platforms, including categories for:
- TV Sports Personality of the Year
- Radio Sports Personality of the Year
- Print Media Sports Personality of the Year
- Digital/Online Creator Sports Personality of the Year
- SportXAwards Media Personality of the Year
PowerList50 Social Media Rankings
The inaugural SportXAwards PowerList50 will also be released at the ceremony, ranking the best performing professional clubs and leagues for their active engagement on social media.
